Malibu Chili Cook-Off 2010
09.09.10
Last year was supposed to be the last year the Malibu Chili Cook-Off would be held, but after much debate and permit issues it appears the Chili Cook-Off will be returning to Malibu. The Chili Cook-Off occurs every year on Labor Day Weekend, and is a fun family tradition for many Malibu locals. It’s a time where friends and families of the community get together for carnival rides, game booths, music, and chili. Friday night is known as “Malibu Night” because that is the day Malibu residents attend the fair. Saturday is when the chili competition commences. There is a cash grand prize for the winner of the competition with the greatest tasting chili. Sunday is when people can buy the chili through the local vendors. But chili is not the only thing you can walk away with on Sunday. A car is raffled off to a very lucky winner of either a Hummer, BMW’, Porsche, motorcycle, and even a Mustang. Normally around 15,000 to 20,000 people attend the Chili Cook-Off every year. Many celebrities appearances are expected every year of the largest hollywood stars. If you are looking to have a great time with fun people and awesome food is the Malibu Chili Cook-Off located at Pacific Coast Highway Malibu, CA 90265.
